This Week’s Events
Featuring Boston Comic Con!
In a show of total bias this week, I am featuring my local convention!
Held next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22nd, at the Hynes Convention Center, BCC will feature such amazing creators as Stephanie Buscema (who designed the official con shirt! viz. above), Jo Chen, Becky Cloonan, Katie Cook, Renae De Liz, Agnes Garbowska, Sara Richard, Jill Thompson, Renee Witterstaetter, and Chrissie Zullo. 
Artists’ Alley boasts such fine creators at Ming Doyle, Shelli Paroline (Adventure Time), Liz Prince, Maris Wicks, and Womanthology creators Cathy Leamy and Andrea Agostini!
But wait, there’s more!  On Saturday at 1pm there will be a Womanthology Panel featuring Renae De Liz, Ming Doyle, Stacie Ponder, Cat Staggs, Megan Brennan, Ellen Crenshaw, and Ceili Conway, and it will be moderated by Yours Truly!

In Chicks Dig Comics, editors Lynne M. Thomas and Sigrid Ellis bring together essays by award-winning writers and artists who celebrate the comics medium and its creators, and who examine the characters and series that they love. Gail Simone and Carla Speed McNeil describe how they entered the comics industry. Colleen Doran reveals her superhero crush, while Jill Thompson confesses to being a comics junkie. Other contributors include Marjorie Liu, Rachel Edidin, Jill Pantozzi, Kelly Thompson, and SF/F authors Sara Ryan, Delia Sherman, Sarah Monette, and Elizabeth Bear. Also featured: an introduction by Mark Waid and exclusive interviews with Amanda Conner, Louise Simonson, Greg Rucka, and Terry Moore.
