Ann Nocenti will in fact be writing Catwoman’s “origin” #0 issue, and then the ongoing starting with #13, and she summed up everything I’ve ever loved about the character.
I’ve been hoping for another great Catwoman book ever since I read Ed Brubaker’s run in trade (with phenomenal art by Darwyn Cooke and Cameron Stewart), and I was disappointed that I didn’t feel like I could get behind the Judd Winick/Guillem March reboot. Nocenti is giving me hope that we’ll be getting back to a Selina Kyle with more psychological depth, exploring her background as an orphan, as well as her near-kleptomania.
And she tells Newsarama that she’s planning a new love interest—a development I am looking forward to (not much of a Bat/Cat fan—don’t hate me!)
